Dynamics
Gymnastics –Saffron Walden classes give gymnasts the opportunity to
experience General Gymnastics. General Gymnastics is a British Gymnastics discipline that
encourages gymnasts to learn a variety of low level skills from other
British Gymnastics disciplines such as Artistic Gymnastics, Acrobatic
Gymnastics, Trampoline Gymnastics and Rhythmic Gymnastics.
At Saffron Walden we have access to a floor area, a box, a
trampette, a beam, benches and trampolines.
During the classes, gymnasts progress towards achieving badges 8 – 1 of the British Gymnastics Proficiency Award Scheme followed by the
Dynamics Gymnastics Award Scheme. Gymnasts
demonstrating particular potential in these classes will be offered the
opportunity to join the City of Cambridge Gymnastics Club competition
squads or they will be directed towards Gymnastics Clubs who offer
competitions at a higher level. When are the classes? Classes
run on Tuesdays as follows: 4.30
– 5.25pm: Boys and girls between the ages of 5-7 Where
are the classes? The
classes are at the Saffron Walden County High School gymnasium within
the school Sports Centre. Saffron
Walden County High School can be found on Audley End Road on the edge of
Saffron Walden. The Sports
Centre entrance is at the bottom of the hill on the right if approaching from Audley
End or is the first entrance on the left if approaching from the town. How
much does it cost? The
cost is currently £40 a term for 10 sessions.
An additional annual fee of £15.00 is collected every July to cover Dynamics Gymnastics affiliation fees which are used to cover
insurance requirements. Fees
are due at the beginning of each new term either in the form of a lump
sum or two cheques, one post dated for half term. What
do gymnasts wear? We simply ask that gymnasts do not wear loose clothing or denim. Leotards are obviously suitable as are t-shirts, shorts, leggings etc. Gymnasts are asked to participate in bare feet, remove any jewellery and tie long hair back. We do offer a range of club clothing, including a leotard, t-shirt, tracksuit and shorts but these are by no means compulsory. How do I
register?
At the current time all Dynamics Gymnastics – Saffron Walden classes are full and have waiting lists in place. To register your child on the waiting list, please contact Nikki by using the details on the Contact Us page. Nikki will need to know the potential gymnast’s name, date of birth, prior experience and will need as many contact details as possible. Please provide an e-mail if at all possible as this is the quickest and cheapest way to communicate. Please note, although we don't start gymnasts until they are 5 its is advisable to add future gymnasts to the waiting list by their 4th birthday.
